Completion of Re-Centre Research Project

To our valued research project participants,

We wish to inform you that the Re-Centre research project will be coming to an end after more than eight successful years. All three Re-Centres in Moncton will be closing on Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 p.m. Much was learned from this research project since 2014.

In July, the Government of New Brunswick announced that it’s implementing regulatory changes to the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage container recycling program in the province. This means that many positive changes are on the horizon.

This is good news for the beverage container recycling industry in New Brunswick as we endeavour to increase recycling rates at redemption centres through improved services and standards.

We want to sincerely thank our participants for making the Re-Centre research project a huge success. Feedback from participants has been extremely valuable. The cooperation from stakeholders such as Valley Redemption, Sobeys and the City of Moncton has also been exceptional and essential to our success.

Please see the graphic below for important dates related to the end of the project and for answers to any questions you may have. We strongly encourage you to continue your commitment to beverage container recycling by using other redemption centres in the Greater Moncton area after Oct. 31.
